The country of FLA was birthed from the ashes of the Confederate States of America, caused by a revolution of the major land lords that deemed that any federal law over them was oppressive, and that trade agreements were putting too much pressure on property rights with countries expressing the need for human rights, ending chattel slavery, and public gladitorial death matches before trade would continue.  The FLA revolutionaries argued that the point of the CSA was to uphold that, as was their casus belli against the USA.

There have been several series of racial and sexually oriented purges and round ups, but in recent years they have dwindled down in number, largely due to the disappearance of population groups.
